Technical Software Sales, Account Manager

Position Description: A fast-paced, high-growth position. Responsibilities include managing our extensive database of clients, ramp-up learning on Siemens PLM software products, software order placement and databases (i.e., Salesforce) and handling inside sales calls from existing clients.

  • Strong emphasis on prospecting and cultivating new business for Applied CAx.
  • Articulate, well organized, and able to communicate professionally to C-level executives and below.
  • Able to cover assigned territories with overnight travel duties; usually not more than (6) nights per month.
  • Quick and fluid with all standard software office tools (e.g., Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Develop and manage a territory plan with assistance from the Sales Technical Director and Marketing Director.
  • Build and maintain a database of contacts and prospects using a CRM tool. Salesforce or equivalent.
  • Develop and deliver forecasts to management that are professional and accurate.
  • Identify and initiate periodic sales campaigns.
  • Coordinate demos of Siemens PLM software.

Desired Attributes:

The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated individual with 2+ years’ experience selling technical software (e.g., Autodesk, Dassault, PTC, Siemens, etc.). The candidate should have excellent communication skills, high work ethic, the desire to ensure client success and the ability to independently manage their daily workflow.

Required Qualifications: BS or BA (minimum) Quantifiable communication skills. Must provide examples of business letters and presentations. Multi-disciplinary qualifications that demonstrate a high work ethic. Business Development Lead

Role:

This is a growth position where the right candidate can transition from an inside sales representative to an Account Manager. You will play a fundamental role in achieving our revenue growth objectives. You are a driven and passionate professional with a strong desire to learn, collaborate, lean in and try new things, work hard, enjoy the process, and succeed.

This position requires:

  • High motivation and drive without management intervention
  • Strong phone presence and experience in making strategic calls
  • Ability to execute a planned/scripted call while making it feel like a conversation
  • Experience working with Salesforce.com or similar CRM
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively
  • An affinity for technical topics

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Source sales opportunities through inbound lead follow-up
  • Source sales opportunities through outbound cold calls and emails
  • Research accounts, identify key players, and generate interest
  • Identify qualifying prospects, generate interest and route qualified opportunities to sales reps
  • Maintain and expand our database of prospects within our assigned territory

Expectations and Experience:

  • We see the ideal candidate spending one to two years in this position and moving up to a technical account manager position.

  • Demonstrable organizational skills using CRM and Microsoft Office (Word & Excel)

Administrative Assistant

Position Description: Keep our office running smoothly every day, supporting accounting, administration, and sales staff. If you enjoy diverse and challenging work, this may be the position for you.

  • General office: handle office tasks, such as mailing, filing, organizing, etc.
  • Bookkeeping/Accounting 
    • Accounts Payable: enter/pay bills, set up/maintain vendor information 
    • Accounts Receivable: prepare/send invoices, receive payments, collection calls, set up/maintain client information, prepare/send statements 
    • Process employee expense reports  Bank reconciliations, bank deposits 
    • File and pay multiple state sales taxes 
    • Assist with processing payroll, commission, cost of sales reports. 
  • Customer Service 
    • Answer phones and address customer concerns 
    • Route calls and/or get messages to correct party 
    • Manage company cell phone accounts (Ringcentral) 
  • Support sales team with operating needs 
    • Prompt/immediate responses to quote requests 
    • Software order processing using specialty online ordering platform
    • Placing trial orders 
    • Creating quotes/invoices for software sales and maintenance renewals 
    • Support the processing of maintenance renewals 
  • Perform commercial credit checks to help establish payment terms for new customers

Experience Desired 

  • 2+ years experience in office administration and support 
  • QuickBooks experience (required)
  • Microsoft Office/Office 365
  • Great attention to detail
  • Information gathering for creative and challenging problem solving 
  • Working at a software reseller or similar company experience 
  • Familiar with B2B sales and payment protocols

This position is a full-time non-exempt position. The Admin Assistant is expected to be in-office daily. Applied CAx offers PTO, holidays, health, dental, SIMPLE IRA, professional development, bike-to-work program, and a great team to work with.

Compensation: $43,000 to 52,000

Digital Marketing Intern

We are looking for an intern with strong written and verbal communication skills to support our marketing and sales teams in a broad range of content creation and production for campaigns. A variety of tasks will be available to you as we discover and utilize additional talents and interests.

Position Description: Assist our Digital Marketing Manager and our Sales Managers as we provide content, messaging, and materials to our existing and prospective customers.

Potential tasks & Responsibilities include:

  • Copywriting
  • Email and newsletter creation (content entry, layout adjustment, campaign scheduling)
  • Content creation (technical blogs)
  • Social media coordination (content creation and planning, brand management and reporting)
  • Website management assistance (content entry, layout adjustment)

A shortlist of skills that you should be able to demonstrate:

  • Willingness to learn about new industries and fields
  • Research skills
  • Brainstorm with engineers to distill and extract key messages into a rough draft
  • Content creation (technical copywriting, graphic design, video)

This is a part-time non-exempt position and will be 18-24 hours a week for 12-to-24 weeks depending upon availability. The position could potentially develop into a full-time role.
