Applied CAx and Predictive Engineering have been providing our popular hands-on FEA training for more than 11 years. Over the years we've seen every type of engineer benefit from our course, and we've been happy to either be their host in beautiful Portland, Oregon, come to their location for onsite training, or our live, interactive online courses.

Our Simcenter Femap Training Class Instructors are led by our Simcenter Femap support team. As well, the team works on FEA & CFD consulting projects at Predictive Engineering, where they consult on a broad range of projects and specialize in FEA consulting, CFD consulting, LS-DYNA analysis, and ASME BPVC Pressure Vessel Consulting Services.

As a newcomer to FEA, I was impressed at how comprehensible the class made the FEMAP/NX Nastran software package. The workshop examples were very well-devised, illustrating both broad topics and more nuanced points, and covered a considerable amount of material in four days. Arguably the greatest benefit of the course was the take-home package of class notes, which has been a consistently useful resource to return to as I continue to use FEMAP.

If you could do one or two things to make it better, what would they be?  
Break the class into two parts, with Foundation day 1 and 2, and Advanced day 3, 4 and 5. Found day 1 and 2 kind of slow. Day 3 would have been a better place for me to start.
 
General comments?  
Maybe work through a modeling problem from the student's company. Point out areas in the model to improve and show any valuable APIs to improve modeling time or results.  

Thanks for the certificate and the good time at Portland. It was all worth to travel (including the jet lag) because I’ve learned a lot of things from Adrian.

The combination of lessons, documentation and videos is the best package I have ever had in a course. My compliments go out to Adrian. His teaching skills, his FE knowledge and ability to answer questions that go beyond the course material are really impressive. I’ve already recommended this course to my colleagues.

Might be fun to have the students bring in a parasolid that they are working on. Maybe do a real-time mesh/analysis on the projector. Not sure if that would add value or not, but could be fun.

The course was very well put together. I had previously done the videos and the course was still worth it (Plenty of tips and tricks that didn't make it into the videos.)

Pre-class preparation would have helped me to learn and keep pace with the class. "Finding the button" was challenging at times since this was my first FEMAP experience.

Learned lots of new things about FEMAP from the instructor, Adrian. I've been using FEMAP for a couple of years, came to this class to learn more advanced features. The class covered an incredible amount of capabilities. The instructor and owner of the company and the pople that work for them are all very knowledgeable and helpful.

I liked the extra assignments that would come at the end of the workshops. Watching the tutorials were very similar to what was shown live. It would be nice to have the extra work more structured to practice the skill set.  
 
General comments?  
Very informative class that covers many different topics. Learned alot of little tricks and tips to help make modeling and analysis easier. Also help to enforce the knowledge I learned from webinars and trial and error is accurate and give a much higher degree of confidence in my analyses.
